Janelle has always loved working with children, so going into the field of education was an easy decision. She completed her undergraduate work at Keuka College which exposed her to both Elementary and Special Education. This is where she developed the desire to focus more on children with special needs.
Janelle worked in the Rochester City School District for a year, then moved to Corning to work in Watkins Glen. In both schools she served as a Special Education teacher in many different facets: as an elementary consultant teacher, elementary self-contained classroom teacher, and a 15:1 for high school math. She taught for 6 years in public school before choosing to stay home with her children. For many years even while home, she was able to be a Special Education Itinerant teacher through Building Blocks.
Currently, Janelle is going on her 10th year as Children's Ministry Director at First Bible Baptist church. She has kept a foot in education by being a substitute teacher in the Spencerport School District.
She has had an active role in her children's education whether it be homeschooling, volunteering in their classrooms, teaching co-ops, or serving as the PTA president.
Janelle also supports adults with disabilities through Heritage Christian.
Janelle Loves People, Fun, & of course Jesus!
