Marilyn moved to Rochester from Alabama after college to work for Xerox Corporation. After 14 years she came home to be a full-time mom. She and her husband homeschooled their four children with the aid of a homeschool coop. She taught Physics and Chemistry to homeschool students for 14 years and tutored students in math and science. More recently, she has been a substitute teacher in the Pittsford Central School District where she served as a long-term sub for a 4th grade class and middle school math teacher.

Marilyn and her husband Larry have been married since 1989 and have 4 adult children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends gardening, hiking, and almost anything outdoors. During winter months their family spend many evenings together cheering on their beloved Buffalo Bills and NY Giants.
